A guide to tracks in Guilford and Forsyth counties that are considered open for runners and walkers.
A listing of the available tracks for use by runners and walkers in Guilford and Forsyth counties follows below.
Tracks at middle or high schools listed below are available for use except during school hours or when in use for school activities (click to see the bus-and-bell schedule for Guilford County Schools).
If you encounter a locked gate at a track listed below, send an email to eddiewooten@gmail.com and I'll check on it for you.

Where: 801 N. Josephine Boyd St.
Marcus T. Johnson Track
Where: Inside Truist Stadium, Sullivan and Lindsay streets, A&T campus.
When: Daily, except for 2-6 p.m., when Aggies athletics teams could be using the facility.
Notable: By far, the area’s finest and fastest 400 meters. The university's athletics department hosts national championship meets for youth and USATF competition.
Kernodle Middle School
Where: 3600 Drawbridge Parkway, Greensboro.
Northwest Guilford High School
Where: 5240 Northwest School Road.
Smith High School
Where: 2407 S. Holden Road.
Southeast Guilford High School
Where: 4530 Southeast School Road.
Southern Guilford High School
Where: 5700 Drake Road.
High Point
Aderholt Track
Where: High Point Athletic Complex, 2920 School Park Road.
When: 5 a.m.-11 p.m.
Notable: The track is part of a lighted facility that includes fields for baseball, soccer and football.
High Point Central High School
Where: 801 Ferndale Blvd.
Southwest Guilford High School
Where: 4364 Barrow Road.
Jamestown
Ragsdale High School
Where: 1000 Lucy Ragsdale Dr.
McLeansville
Northeast Guilford High School
Where: 6700 McLeansville Road.
Winston-Salem
Bob Sosnik Track at Hanes Park
Where: 1404 W. Northwest Blvd.
When: Daily.
Notable: Track is not available when in use by the Reynolds High School track and field or cross country teams
Happy Hill Park
Where: 1230 Alder St.
Notable: A City of Winston-Salem facility.
