22 For '22! Run the Boro

22 For '22! Run the Boro
The 2021 Run the Boro series began on Labor Day weekend at Jaycee Park in Greensboro.

Editor's note: Another in a series, 22 For '22, celebrating running in the Triad. Running Shorts' paid subscribers will receive a reminder every day through Jan. 1 about events, places, people or things that will help running rise to another level in 2022. Enjoy!

Among all of the things from recent history that COVID-19 has made feel eons ago, add Run the Boro in the springtime to that list.

But Thad McLaurin's running field trips around Greensboro are scheduled to return to their normal place on our calendars May 7.

The RunnerDude's Fitness CEO initiated the first series of the free group runs in May 2016, and they became a staple in Greensboro in May and June through 2019 and until the coronarvirus got involved. Run the Boro went virtual in 2020, and things opened up enough this year for McLaurin to welcome runners and walkers in person in September and October.

If you're from Winston-Salem, High Point or another Triad locale, you're invited; Thad's got something to show you.

But circle the date, May 7, and hopefully a running rite of spring in the Gate City will be back on course.
