News and notes about running in the Triad:
Run the Boro is back
Thad McLaurin's field trips for runners and walkers are back in a familiar spot: On Saturday mornings in May and June.
The owner of RunnerDude's Fitness will host his annual series of Run the Boro runs in Greensboro starting at 7 a.m. Saturday at Jaycee Park. The runs went virtual after the pandemic arrived in 2020 and took place in September and October in 2021.
The runs are free, but donations are also welcome and can be made by clicking here.
May the Course Be With You
Though today is May the Fourth, Junction 311 Endurance Sports and the Omega Sports Race Series will have to wait until Saturday to be with you.
The May the Course Be With You 10K (8 a.m.) and 5K (8:30 a.m.) will start and finish at Lawndale Baptist Church in Greensboro. Registration is pushing 450 runners for the two runs plus a 1-mile event. And of course, your best "Star Wars" costume will serve as proper race gear.
May the Course proceeds will benefit Restoration Place Counseling.
GO FAR seeks volunteers for Saturday race
GO FAR, the Triad-based program that helps after-school students train for a 5K and develop healthy eating habits, will host its spring race at 8:30 a.m. Saturday at Piedmont Centre Business Park, 4050 Piedmont Parkway, High Point.
While adults are welcome in the 5K, they're also needed to help with race management and parking. Click here to learn more and to sign up to volunteer.
