Runners, and their families, love a good destination marathon.

But 2022 will bring a number of familiar races covering the marathon distance or longer that can provide you a night's sleep before the run in your own bed – or, hey, why not go for the O.Henry or the Proximity! – and the race-day hospitality provided by one of our companies or clubs and volunteers.

The lineup of 26.2-mile, or longer, races in which you can enjoy a home-course advantage:

Jan. 8: Frosty Fifty 50K, Twin City Track Club, Winston-Salem.

Feb. 13: St. Valentine's Day Massacre Marathon, Junction 311 Endurance Sports, Greensboro.

Feb. 26: Pilot Mountain Marathon, Mountain Goat Racing, Pinnacle.

March 12: Northern Trails Marathon, Trivium Racing, Greensboro.

Oct. 1: Pilot Mountain to Hanging Rock 50K and 50 Miles, Trivium Racing, Pinnacle to Danbury.

Oct. 22: Cannonball Marathon, Junction 311 Endurance Sports, Greensboro.

Date TBA: Triple Lakes Trail Race 40 Miles, Trivium Racing, Greensboro.
