22 For '22! Trivium Racing
One in a series of posts looking at people, places, events and more that will help running rise to another level in 2022.
2021, ending on a dour note in virus terms, is leaving us hoping for something new in 2022.
And Trivium Racing is planning to deliver.
Trivium, owned by Browns Summit's Libby and Rich Swor, this week introduced a new Trail Mega Medal Series as part of its race offerings for the new year. The Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, Northern Trails, Owls Roost Rumble (a Trivium premiere after an acquisition from Junction 311) and Triple Lakes will not only form the series but offer medals that will attach to form a spider web; movable spider included.
The full schedule for Trivium's road series remains to be announced, but Rich Swor said Wednesday that a new event, a 10-mile race on Elm Street in Greensboro in May, would be part of it. The series will include returns of several of its Gate City favorites.
Trivium, early in the new year, also will introduce its bundle pricing for its events.
Like Junction 311, Trivium is also active in other states, most notably the Swor homeland of Michigan. Two events, the End of the Road Marathon and Half on a bypassed section of Pennsylvania Turnpike, and the Highball to Thurmond 50 Mile and 50K, are unique.
And bringing things back to North Carolina, the Blackbeard's Revenge along the Outer Banks provides two solo distance options, 100 miles and 100 kilometers, and welcomes relay teams covering the full run from Corolla to Hatteras.
